Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer | Tech For Good | UK Remote | £70,000

Our client, a leading player in the ‘Tech For Good’ Education Software space, is looking for passionate and curious Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join an exciting and unique project; to build a large-scale and market-leading platform from scratch.

Due to the exciting infancy of the project, there is the unique opportunity to not only help influence the technical direction of the platform but also the tech team culture and ways of working to build an open and collaborative working environment. 

Required Skills & Experience:

• At least 4 years of Ruby on Rails commercial experience
• Has experience with relational databases i.e. MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Champions clean code and best software practises
• Automates testing of written code with RSpec
• Distributed version control using Git and branching strategies

Coupled with excellent Ruby/Rails experience, we are looking for Engineers who have an interest and enthusiasm to help others improve via mentoring, coaching and leading by example.

Some prior experience leading a small team would be ideal but this opportunity would also suit an ambitious Senior Ruby Engineer who wants to take on more responsibility and have more impact. 

As a professional Senior Ruby Engineer, you can work fully remotely from anywhere in the UK or if you’d like, you can spend some time on-site in London meeting colleagues and other departments face to face, it’s entirely up to you.
